Tarboche, located at the southern face of Mount Kailash, is the place where horses/ponies can be hired for the trek. From Tarboche, we proceed to Yama Dwar, marking the official start of the 13 km trek to Dirapuk. The trail is relatively easy, but the high altitude and lower oxygen levels can make the journey challenging. We will take a short break at a small tea stall along the way before continuing.
Upon reaching Dirapuk, you will be greeted with a breathtaking view of Mount Kailash towering beside you. Take a moment to capture this awe-inspiring sight before heading to the guesthouse near Dirapuk Monastery. As temperatures drop below freezing at night, we will have a quick, light dinner (Khichdi, soup, etc.) before resting for the night
